The Settings screen of Revenue First Analytics is one page of cards: License & Updates, General, Privacy & GDPR, Integrations, Facebook Conversions API, Google Search Console, AI assistants, Data Management and Developer Tools. Out of the box, tracking is on, administrators and bots are excluded, Consent mode is active, a WooCommerce order counts when it reaches Completed, and raw data is kept for 365 days.
Open the Settings screen
Go to Rev Analytics in the WordPress admin menu and click the gear icon at the right end of the top bar. Toggles and fields are saved together with the Save changes button in the top-right corner; a short Settings saved message confirms it. Buttons inside cards (Activate, Export data, Delete data, Connect, Disconnect) act immediately. The installed plugin version is shown at the bottom of the page.
Secrets (the Facebook access token and the Google client secret) are shown masked after saving, with only their last four characters visible. Saving the page with the masked value keeps the stored secret; paste a new value to replace it.
What does each settings card do?
License & Updates
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| License key | Empty | Paste the key from your wpgens.com purchase receipt or purchase history and click Activate. A valid key enables automatic updates from the Plugins screen. |
| Deactivate site | Shown once a key is stored. Frees the activation so you can use the key on another site. The card also shows the license status and the masked key. |
Status messages and renewals are explained in Activating Your License and Updates.
General
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Enable tracking | On | Loads the tracking script and accepts data at the collect endpoint. When off, no pageviews or events are collected, and server-side form events are skipped too. |
| Exclude admin users | On | Logged-in administrators are not tracked, and no Facebook events are sent for them. With Debug mode on, administrators still see the debug panel but nothing is recorded. |
| Exclude bots | On | Drops requests whose User-Agent matches known bots, crawlers, monitoring tools and AI agents. Requests with an empty User-Agent are treated as bots. |
Privacy & GDPR
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Tracking mode | Consent mode | One of Privacy mode (cookieless, same-day attribution), Consent mode (recommended for EU) (cookieless until the visitor accepts statistics cookies) or Full tracking (a cookie for every visitor). See Choosing a Privacy Mode. |
| Data subject requests | Enter a visitor’s email address and click Export data to download a JSON file with their purchases, leads, sessions, pageviews and events, or Delete data to remove all of it permanently after a confirmation. The same data is included in WordPress’s own Tools > Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data. See Handling GDPR Access and Erasure Requests. |
Integrations
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| WooCommerce revenue tracking | On | Records WooCommerce orders as conversions and sends cart, checkout and purchase events. Greyed out when WooCommerce is not installed. |
| Record conversion when order status is | Completed | The WooCommerce order status that turns an order into a conversion. The list contains every order status on your site (including custom ones) plus Payment Complete (hook), which fires when the gateway confirms payment. Completed always counts as a conversion as well, so orders are never missed or counted twice. Shown only while WooCommerce tracking is on. |
| Easy Digital Downloads revenue tracking | On | Records completed EDD payments as conversions. Greyed out when Easy Digital Downloads is not installed. |
Form plugins have no toggle. Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms, Elementor Pro Forms, Formidable Forms, Ninja Forms, Forminator, Jetpack Forms, Divi and Bricks forms are tracked automatically when the plugin is active.
Facebook Conversions API
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Enable Facebook CAPI | Off | Sends server-side PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout and Purchase events to Meta. Events go out only for visitors with marketing consent (always in Full tracking) and never in Privacy mode, where the toggle explains that the integration is not available. |
| Pixel ID | Empty | Your Pixel ID from Facebook Events Manager. Only digits are kept. |
| Access Token | Empty | Generated in Events Manager under Settings > Conversions API. Required for server-side events; masked after saving. |
| Test Event Code (optional) | Empty | While set, events appear in the Test Events tab of Events Manager instead of counting as real data. Remove it for production. |
| Inject browser pixel | On | Also loads the Facebook Pixel in the browser (for PageView) once marketing consent allows it. Server and browser events are deduplicated. Turn it off if another plugin already adds the pixel. |
The fields below the toggle appear only after you enable the integration. Full setup is in Facebook Conversions API and Pixel for WooCommerce.
Google Search Console
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Set up Google Search Console | Opens a dialog with step-by-step instructions, the Authorized Redirect URI to add to your Google Cloud OAuth client, and the Client ID and Client Secret fields. Save & Connect stores them and sends you to Google to authorize. |
| Connect Google Search Console | Shown once credentials are saved but the site is not yet authorized. Starts the Google authorization. |
| Connected / Disconnect / Reconfigure | When connected, the card shows the connected site URL. Disconnect clears the credentials after a confirmation; Reconfigure reopens the credentials dialog. |
Once connected, a Search Console card with your search keywords appears on the dashboard. See Connecting Google Search Console.
AI assistants (Claude and other MCP clients)
This card has no settings to save. It shows a checklist of what the read-only analytics abilities need: WordPress 6.9 or newer, the free MCP Adapter plugin (installed and active) and Application passwords (which require HTTPS), with links to install the adapter and to open your profile. When everything is in place it shows the MCP endpoint and a ready-made client configuration. The abilities return aggregated reports only and require an administrator account. See Asking Claude About Your Analytics.
Data Management
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Data retention (days) | 365 | A daily job (03:00 UTC) deletes pageviews, sessions and events older than this. Revenue rows older than this keep their amount and attribution for reporting but lose the customer’s name and email hash. Set to 0 to disable the cleanup. The card shows a storage estimate to help you choose a value. |
| Delete all data on uninstall | Off | When on, deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen drops all six analytics tables and every wpgens_rfa_* option. Leave it off if you ever reinstall by deleting and re-uploading the plugin. Deactivating the plugin never deletes data; it only unschedules the daily job. |
Developer Tools
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Debug mode | Off | Shows a floating Debug Panel in the bottom-right corner of your site for logged-in administrators, listing every tracker payload (pageviews, duration, events), the dataLayer pushes and session information. Regular visitors never see it. With Exclude admin users on, the panel shows what would be sent but records nothing. |
Everything else on the screen is informational. If you cannot find a setting mentioned elsewhere, it is not part of this version of the plugin.
