The plugin works out of the box, but you can fine-tune its behaviour under Marketing > UTM Tracker > Settings. This article covers the General settings.
Disable UTM Tracking Completely
Check this to switch tracking off entirely. While disabled, no visitor activity is recorded and no source data is added to new orders. Leave it unchecked for normal operation.
Cookie Time (in days)
How long the last-touch source is remembered in the visitor’s browser. A longer window keeps attribution alive for shoppers who return after a while; a shorter window credits only recent visits. The default suits most stores.
Delete Cookie after Purchase
If checked, the tracking cookie is cleared once a customer completes a purchase. This means their next visit is treated as a fresh journey rather than continuing the previous one.
Excluded URLs from Reports
Enter one URL or domain per line. Orders coming from these sources or referrers are still tracked but are hidden from your dashboard reports. This is useful for filtering out your own internal domains, staging sites, or partners you do not want skewing the data.
Tracking Source (Reporting Method)
Choose where attribution data comes from:
- WPGens Tracking (Default) – the plugin’s own tracker, which records first and last touch plus the full set of fields described in this documentation.
- WooCommerce Order Attribution – use the attribution data WooCommerce collects natively instead.
Most stores should keep the default. Remember to click Save after changing any setting.
