Once your customers earn points, they’ll want to spend them – so it’s essential to create clear and enticing ways to redeem. With WPGens Points and Rewards for WooCommerce, you can define multiple types of rewards, from percentage discounts to free items, all backed by detailed usage rules.
Redemption options are created and managed from:
- Points & Rewards > Setup > Ways to Redeem
Setting Up Redemption Actions #
To create a new reward that customers can redeem points for:
- Go to Points & Rewards > Setup > Ways to Redeem.
- Click Add redemption action.
- Fill in the following:
- Title: The name of the reward (e.g., “10% Off”, “Free Shipping”).
- Points Cost: How many points are required to claim the reward.
- Enabled: Toggle the reward on or off.
After entering the basic info, you’ll see more options for customizing how the coupon works.
Coupon Types & Restrictions #
You can choose from multiple coupon types, each suited for a different kind of reward:
- Fixed Cart Discount – A set discount on the entire order (e.g., $10 off).
- Percentage Discount – A percentage off the total cart value (e.g., 10% off).
- Product Discount – A fixed amount off specific products.
- Free Shipping – Grant free shipping without altering product prices.
You can also apply optional restrictions:
- Minimum Spent – Set a required cart subtotal to apply the reward.
- Coupon Duration – Set how long the coupon is valid (leave blank for no expiration).
- Reward-specific Coupon Prefix – Customize the beginning of the auto-generated coupon code
Reward Expiration, Minimum Spend & Product Rules #
To create more precise control over where and how rewards are used, you can apply product and category filters:
- Include Products – Reward applies only if these products are in the cart.
- Exclude Products – The coupon will not discount these products.
- Include Categories – Coupon applies only if items from these categories are in the cart.
- Exclude Categories – Coupon will skip any items from the selected categories.
⏳ Expiration Tip: If you’re offering limited-time rewards, setting an expiration (in days) is a great way to encourage faster redemption and increase urgency.
